• Tropical Storm Alberto is currently expected to make landfall somewhere between the Big Bend and Destin around 7 a.m. Monday, May 28.
• In Bay County, current wind predictions estimate tropical storm-strength gusts (39 mph and greater) to begin around 8 p.m. this evening. Sustained tropical storm-strength winds are expected to begin around 2 a.m. Monday, May 28 and continue through the late afternoon hours Monday.

• Bay County Emergency Services, in cooperation with the Red Cross and the Florida Department of Health in Bay County, will open a general population and special needs shelter at Deane Bozeman School at 13410 State Road 77 at 6 p.m. in anticipation of deteriorating weather caused by Tropical Storm Alberto. People who live in low-lying areas and mobile homes should consider relocating.
• Pets and service animals are allowed in the shelter. Their care is the sole responsibility of the owner.
