As of 10:00 AM CDT, Michael has been upgraded to Hurricane status with winds up to 75mph. The storm is expected to strengthen and make landfall as a Category 2. A CAT 2 hurricane has sustained winds of 110 mph.
Owners and guests should make preparations for evacuation.
We continue to ask that all balconies are cleared of furniture and items which would become projectiles.
We expect to start experiencing effects of the storm by Tuesday afternoon.
Panama City Beach is considered an island. Once winds reach 50mph, bridges will be closed.
Origin at Seahaven occupant “Need to Know” during a mandatory evacuation
- If Bay County Emergency Services issue a mandatory evacuation, we will make final preparations to secure the building.
- Before management and staff evacuate, elevators and generators will be shut off.
- During a hurricane, emergency personnel will not be able to respond to 911 calls.
- The building may be without electricity and potable water for periods of up to 48 hours or more.
We urge everyone to strongly consider making plans and preparations now.
